Eight week course, once a week one hour classes.
Skills covered by the
course: weapon holding and main fencing positions;
fencing measure, advance, retreat, lunge;
straight hits and hits with disengagements;
attacks, counter-attacks and feints;
parries and ripostes
Upon completion of this course students should be able to
demonstrate a knowledge of: fencing terminology;
basic rules and judging of a fencing bout;
offensive and defensive actions; fencing etiquette
All equipment for the course will be provided: jackets and underarm plastrons;
masks, gloves and breast protectors; electrical epees and body wires;
electronic scoring machines and reels

A more intense program that includes eight individual, one-on-one lessons scheduled online at your convenience followed by six group classes on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. Students are encouraged to complete self-directed footwork and target work sessions after the individual lessons.

| | Sword Players Fencing Academy Membership and Programs
Any type of Sword Players Fencing Academy membership or participation in any of the following programs except of the "Little Musketeers" program requires a CFF license ($10 per year) and an OFA participant membership ($5 per year)

Though the program is focused mainly on physical development, enhanced coordination and games, fencing drills and introduction to sword play are natural elements of the program and are included in each lesson.

Ongoing program designed for children ages 9 to 12
One to three+ group classes per week with individual lessons are included in the program. A rank system with an exciting rank promotion reward program is in place.
Fencing equipment is provided while still involved in the program.

It is believed that the early teens are the most prominent ages for technical and tactical development of a future champion. That is why we run this program four days per week and participants who take three or more classes per week are encouraged to join any of our Footwork/Technical classes as well as any open fencing hours. Participation in "League of Musketeers" tournaments (Cadet/Junior competitions scheduled regularly at our club are included into the Canadian Fencing Federation ranking points system) is strongly recommended for all program members.
It is an ongoing program so one can join the class at any time. Newcomers are entitled to a free trial lesson and, after signing up, to four individual lessons at no charge to learn some basic fencing skills and to catch up with the group. Fencing equipment is provided for use at the club.
Month to month membership, $60/80/100 monthly (one/two/three+ lessons per week)

| | Advanced Adult Beginner Class

This program is designed for those who have taken an Introductory Course and want to continue fencing but are not yet ready to become a full Sword Players Fencing Academy Member.
This class is limited to one group lesson per week and has the same structure most of the time: warm-up followed by footwork, fencing drills and electrical fencing
Fencing equipment will be provided for use during the classes.
$50 monthly

Unlimited fencing during club hours any day of the week
Two group lessons per week
Typically members will be using their own equipment. New members might consider the option to rent club equipment at a reasonable rate ($30 per month for the entire set of protective equipment and $5 per use broken blade insurance).
$60 monthly ($50 monthly if paid for a year) + One Time Enrolment Fee $100.00

| | Junior Competitive (16-19 years old), Adult Competitive and Team Gold Competitive Membership

Open to every member pursuing high performance goals. Prerequisites and obligations include but are not limited to a minimum one year commitment with three or more training days per week as well as an OFA Competitive membership and regular participation in non-local competitions. Talk to your coach about your training plans and how the participation in the Competitive Program will help to enhance your fencing development.
The fees for the program are discussed individually, depend on your age, your fencing level and needs and start as low as from $100 per month for the Junior Competitive Membership and from $250 per month for the Team Gold Competitive Membership.
On the top of the Sword Players Fencing Academy full membership privileges participants of the Competitive Programs would expect:
